2025.11.07

On October 30, the Zijin College of Geology and Mining, Fuzhou University held the opening ceremony for the Class of 2025. At the ceremony, Nanchang Mineral Systems Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “NMS”) donated RMB 300,000 to the college, marking the official establishment of a strategic partnership between the two sides. The event was attended by Mr. Chen Jinghe, Chairman of the Zijin College Council and Chairman of Zijin Mining Group; Ms. Jiang Lilong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Fuzhou University and Vice President; Mr. Zheng Shou, Party Secretary of the College; Mr. Zhong Shuiping, Dean of the College; Mr. Li Shunshan, Chairman and President of NMS; and other distinguished guests.

Established in 2007 as a model of university-enterprise cooperation between Fuzhou University and Zijin Mining Group, Zijin College of Geology and Mining is renowned for the “Zijin Model,” which emphasizes “enterprise-supported education, enterprise participation in educational processes, and enterprise evaluation of educational outcomes.” The college is dedicated to cultivating high-caliber professionals in the fields of geology and mining, contributing significantly to China’s mineral industry. As a long-term partner of Zijin Mining Group, NMS’s donation not only reflects its recognition of the “Zijin Model” but also underscores the shared commitment of two leading enterprises in the mining sector to talent development.

According to the cooperation plan, the RMB 300,000 donation from NMS will be designated for the establishment of the “NMS Scholarship” and the “NMS Teaching Excellence Award,” aimed at recognizing outstanding students with academic excellence and faculty members who excel in teaching and research. Additionally, the funds will support the organization of the “NMS Cup” Academic and Technology Festival, which will provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity, enhance practical abilities, and stimulate the teaching enthusiasm of faculty and the innovative potential of students. The two sides will also jointly establish the “Fuzhou University Mining Engineering Internship and Training Base” and a “Joint R&D Center” to promote deep integration of industry, academia, and research.
Notably, this initiative aligns with NMS’s ongoing efforts to support mining education. Just a day earlier, on October 29, the award ceremony for the 2024–2025 “NMS Scholarship” was held at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. During the ceremony, Mr. Zhang Chunlei, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Mining Engineering, emphasized the profound significance of the scholarship, while student representative Huang Kai expressed the determination of a new generation of mining students to live up to expectations and serve the nation.

At the event, Mr. Xu Kunhe, Regional General Manager of the Domestic Market Department of NMS, remarked that the “NMS Scholarship” embodies the company’s commitment to education, cultivation of future industry talent, and firm belief in advancing China’s transformation from a “major mining country” to a “strong mining nation.” He encouraged students to stay true to their aspirations, pursue knowledge diligently, and strengthen their character—integrating personal growth into the broader tide of national progress.
As a leading enterprise in China’s mining equipment manufacturing sector, NMS has long adhered to the philosophy that “talent is the primary resource,” making talent cultivation and educational support a key component of its corporate strategy. NMS has established scholarships at several well-known universities, including Central South University, Jilin University, and China Three Gorges University, and has engaged in extensive cooperation with institutions such as China University of Mining and Technology, East China Jiaotong University, and Taiyuan University of Science and Technology in research, product development, and talent training.
The collaboration with Zijin College of Geology and Mining represents another major step for NMS in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and building an integrated ecosystem of industry-academia-research cooperation. Looking ahead, NMS will continue to deepen partnerships with universities, contributing to talent development and technological innovation in the mining sector, and providing strong momentum for the high-quality development of China’s mining industry.
